What is Flag Football?
Flag Football is the fast, tactical and accessible version of American Football - with no physical contact such as tackling. Instead, players wear flags attached to their hips, which the defense must pick off to stop play. The result? A dynamic, safe and super fun sport suitable for everyone.
Flag Football is booming, both worldwide and in the Netherlands. And with good reason: the game is easy to learn, requires speed and smart play, and is perfect for all ages and levels. Plus, it's one of the most inclusive team sports around - Flag is played mixed, so boys and girls are on the field together.
Flag Football is getting bigger and bigger and will soon reach a new high: it is scheduled for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. This officially makes Flag a sport of the future - and that future starts now.
In the Netherlands, Flag Football is organized by the AFBN, with competitions for youth, adult and mixed teams. There are also national selections representing the Netherlands on the international stage.
