The Maastricht Wildcats are champions of the First Division and will have the choice to play in the GridIron Eredivisie next season. After their 38-0 victory over the Hilversum Hurricanes – who are a combined team with the Flevo Phantoms this year – in the Orange Bowl, the team is assured of promotion and can possibly prepare themselves for a season at the highest level.

The game felt over after the first quarter. Hilversum's offense then failed to find the necessary form, even though the Wildcats had taken their foot off the gas.
It's a nice end to the season for Maastricht, who managed to find fantastic form after a difficult start. For Hilversum, the end is bittersweet. The team only lost to Maastricht and couldn't use one of their top three quarterbacks in the final. As a result, the team is stranded in the final for the second season in a row.
