Supervisory board

The Supervisory board independently oversees the policies and performance of the board of the American Football Association of the Netherlands (AFBN).. The board monitors the continuity, transparency and integrity of the organization and ensures that the board acts in the best interests of the union and its members.

Duties and responsibilities

Board of Supervisors:

• Reviews the board's policy and strategy;

• assesses whether the board is acting in accordance with the bylaws, regulations and applicable laws and regulations;

• oversees the financial health of the union;

• Oversees the performance of the director and the board;

• appoints, suspends or dismisses board members as needed;

• Acts as a sounding board for the board on important decisions.

The council does not have an executive role, but performs a monitoring and advisory function.

Independent and integrity

The Supervisory Board operates independently of the Board. Its members are guided by the interests of the AFBN as a whole - not partial interests. Integrity, transparency and commitment are central to their approach.

Composition

Members of the Supervisory Board are appointed on the basis of expertise, independence and affinity with the sport and the organization. They are appointed for a fixed term and may be reappointed a maximum of one time.

Currently, the Supervisory Board consists of the following members:
