The American Football Association of the Netherlands (AFBN) actively invests in the development of people within the sport. Whether you are a coach, referee, player or administrator: good guidance and knowledge ensure stronger associations and a safer, more professional sports climate.
Our courses focus on three main areas:
Coaches
In cooperation with the American Football Coaches Platform (AFCP) and the NOC*NSF, among others, the AFBN offers training, workshops and clinics for coaches at every level - from youth sports to national teams. This is how we ensure safe, didactically strong and sports-technically skilled coaches. You can find more about the AFCP at www.afcp.nl .
Referees
Through our referee committee, new officials are trained and existing referees are guided in their development. We provide clear rules, good communication and a culture of respect on the field.
Association Directors
At least as much happens off the field. That is why the AFBN is working on modules and meetings for club administrators, focusing on topics such as membership recruitment, safe sports climate, volunteer policy, financial management and sports technical policy. This is how we strengthen the quality and continuity of our clubs.
