Tackle

What is Tackle Football?

Tackle Football is the best known and most spectacular form of American Football. It is a physical and strategic team sport in which strength, speed and cooperation come together on the field. Two teams of eleven players each compete against each other to gain ground, score touchdowns and stop the opponent with tough but controlled tackles.

What makes Tackle Football unique is that it truly is a sport for everyone. There is a position for every physique and every type of athlete. Whether you're big and strong, fast and agile, or smart and strategic - each team has different roles that are all equally important. That diversity makes the sport not only physically challenging, but also socially connecting and inclusive.

Players wear protective gear such as helmets and shoulder pads, allowing the game to be played safely despite its physical nature. Each team consists of offense, defense and special teams, each with its own tactics and specialties.

Tackle Football is organized in the Netherlands by the AFBN, with competitions for both youth and adults. We also have national teams representing the Netherlands at the international level.
