The finals of the national First and Second Division American football leagues have been announced.

The final of the national First Division American Football of the AFBN will be between the Hilversum Hurricanes and the Maastricht Wildcats. Both teams will meet on July 5th at 2 PM in the Orange Bowl at the Maastricht playing field. The winner of the match will have the choice of promotion to the Gridiron Eredivisie.

Hilversum Hurricanes reached the final last Sunday by defeating West-Frisian Outlaws in the scorching heat. Maastricht had already reached the final by finishing first in their division. This also earned the Limburg team the right to host the final. Hilversum and Maastricht both have a 6-2 record.

In the rural Second Division, it's already happening on Sunday, June 28th. Nijmegen Pirates is organizing the Windmill Bowl at the Nijmegen playing venue. Nijmegen went undefeated through the regular season with a 6-0 record and is the top favorite to win the division. Opponent Alphen Eagles emerged as ’the best of the rest’ with a 2-4 record and will have to face the ultimate test on Sunday.
