The February 2024 newsletter is out!

On February 25, the Dutch Lions tryouts took place, led by HC Fred Armstrong and coach Malik Jackson. It was a great success for both our youth and seniors, with a large group of enthusiastic talents participating. The senior Dutch Lions team already has a home game scheduled against Poland, probably on the third weekend of October. The start of the senior tackle leagues, the Eredivisie and 1st Division, is also imminent, with a mix of young talent and experienced players entering the new season.

For flag players between the ages of 13 and 17, there will be a FREE introductory training of the Flag Football Academy (FFA) in Utrecht on March 10. This academy focuses not only on technical skills, but also on personal growth. In addition, the FFA offers cooperation for AFBN clubs, with experienced coaches willing to organize joint training sessions on location.

The AFBN Board has undergone a refreshing transformation, with Toine Beljaars as the new President, Ans Oosterhuis as a.i. Secretary/Treasurer, and Stephan Tuinenburg who will focus on Sport & Development. With this, the board promises a successful direction for the organization as we bid farewell to Maurice and Chantalle, who have served the AFBN with dedication for the past several years.

The AFBN is still looking for new members for the board and various committees. If you are interested in being part of a great team dedicated to American football in the Netherlands, apply today!
