The Gridiron Premier League separates the wheat from the chaff this week. Both duels in the top national american football league have ranking implications.

The Groningen Giants defend their 1-1 record at home against the Utrecht Dominators, who are also 1-1. Utrecht has held its own so far this season and even managed to surprise Amsterdam Crusaders in a mutual game. A preview of this game can be found on Gridiron.nl.

In the other game, two teams face each other who are still undefeated. The 2-0 Amsterdam Crusaders travel to Leiden for a showdown against the 1-0 Lightning Leiden. Amsterdam knows exactly what the opponent excels at, but the head coach preaches that the Amsterdam Crusaders should be mainly concerned with themselves. The winner of this game takes the lead!

In the First Division, we are down to the third round of play. Rotterdam Trojans (1-1) wants to revenge for the humiliating defeat against the West Frisian Outlaws (1-1). The Trojans must do so against the Hilversum Hurricanes. In Almere, the Trojans meet the undefeated Hilversum Hurricanes.

West Frisian may show that the previous round was no exception. They make the distant trip to Maastricht Wildcats, which hopes its first home game of the season results in a first win.
