The WFA is the largest, longest-standing and most competitive women's tackle football league in the world. The AFBN is proud of its long-standing association with this prestigious league. Here are some interesting facts about the WFA that you should know!

More than 25 former WFA players have moved on to coaching and scouting roles in the NFL, including:

Jennifer King, with more than 12 years of experience in WFA, now coaches as an offensive assistant for the Chicago Bears in the NFL. She made history as the first African-American woman in a full-time coaching role in the NFL as assistant running backs coach for the Washington Commanders in 2021.

Lori Locust, a member of the WFA's advisory board, begins her fifth NFL season as coach, making her debut with the Titans after a successful stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. She previously served four seasons as assistant defensive line coach for the Buccaneers.

Callie Brownson, with eight seasons in the WFA, was a versatile player for the D.C. Divas. She was a five-time captain and four-time All-American. Currently, she is assistant wide receivers coach for the Cleveland Browns in the NFL.

Katie Sowers began her football journey in the WFA before becoming the first woman to coach as an assistant in a Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers. She also coached with the Chiefs. She currently coaches the Ottawa University women's flag football program and the Italian national women's flag football team.
