The AFBN is looking for a secretary. The secretary of the American Football Federation Netherlands (AFBN) is an organizational and administrative talent responsible for managing the administrative and operational processes of the federation. This person plays a crucial role in streamlining communication, documenting important decisions, and supporting board activities to ensure the effective functioning of the AFBN.

The secretary of the AFBN will play a key role in ensuring the streamlined and efficient operation of the association, contributing to the creation of a well-organized and communicative environment within the organization.

  • Skills
    • Experience in administrative, coordinating, or secretarial roles, preferably in the sports sector or non-profit organizations.
    • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Familiarity with governance processes and administrative workflows.
    • Familiarity with rules and regulations applicable to sports federations.
    • Proficiency in working with office software and communication tools.
    • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Affinity for American football or willingness to become familiar with the sport.
  • Administrative Management Responsibilities
    • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date administrative documents, including meeting minutes, policy documents, and official correspondence.
    • Manage the association's archiving system and keep important documents easily accessible.
  • Board support
    • Supporting the chairperson and other board members in planning and organizing board meetings, including drafting the agenda and distributing relevant documents.
    • Minutes of meetings and recording decisions and action items.
  • Communication
    • Act as the link between the board, members, and external parties for administrative and communication needs.
    • Coordinating internal and external communications, such as announcements, newsletters, and official notices.
  • Compliance and Regulation
    • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the sports sector and the association.
    • Assist with maintaining and updating membership records and other administrative requirements.
  • Coordination and Project Management
    • Supporting specific projects and initiatives within the AFBN, including the coordination of events and programs.
    • Contributing to the development of strategic plans and policy documents.
  • Time commitment, volunteer reimbursement, and expenses
    • In this role, you will spend an average of 4 hours per week. This can vary with peaks and valleys, so some flexibility is desired.
    • Per month, you will receive a voluntary contribution of €175.00.
    • Mileage allowance 0.23 euros per kilometer
